It is my pleasure to welcome you to Babington Seniors and Sixth Form.
Our school motto, Semper Fidelis—”always faithful”—reflects the strength of our community spirit. At Babington, this is more than just a phrase; it underpins how we work together, support one another, and grow as a team. Community may be a commonly used word, but here, it truly means something. You are now part of that community, and I am confident you will enjoy being a part of it.
The staff in our Senior School are a passionate and dedicated team. They will take the time to know you as an individual, tailoring lessons and our curriculum to meet your unique needs. We believe everyone has talents waiting to be discovered, and we’re here to help you uncover yours. Through encouragement, guidance, and care, we aim to help you thrive—both academically and personally.
Being a small school is one of our greatest strengths. You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in every aspect of school life—from art and music to sports teams and drama productions. The stage is yours, and at Babington, it is a welcoming place where everyone has a role.
Our pupils are nurtured and challenged through a rich and stimulating curriculum designed to inspire curiosity and a love of learning. Our engaging lessons and dynamic co-curricular opportunities help you grow in confidence, build resilience, and foster happiness and wellbeing.
At Babington, there truly is something for everyone, and I look forward to supporting you throughout your journey and celebrating all that you will achieve.

Our wide range of clubs and societies is one of the many ways we enable pupils to extend their learning and pursue their interests beyond the traditional timetable. These clubs run during lunchtimes and after school, providing students with valuable opportunities to build friendships, gain new skills, and grow in confidence.
In addition to our regular clubs, Babington House students can engage in various enrichment activities and competitions that offer challenges and celebrations.
Our co-curricular programme is not just a collection of optional extras but a central pillar of the Babington House experience. These opportunities empower our students to develop character, resilience, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. They also allow pupils to form lasting friendships, discover new passions, and grow into confident, capable young people who feel inspired and supported in all areas of their lives.
Visit our website for more information and a sample timetable.
Educational trips—both within the UK and overseas—play a central role in our co-curricular offer and are eagerly anticipated by pupils and staff alike. These visits are carefully curated to complement the academic curriculum, bringing learning to life and offering students new perspectives. Whether it’s a history trip to a battlefield site, a geography field study, a theatre visit, or a museum tour, these experiences extend knowledge and ignite curiosity in ways that classroom learning alone cannot achieve.
Among our most eagerly awaited events is the annual ski trip, a longstanding highlight of the school calendar. Open to students across the senior years, the ski trip offers the perfect blend of physical challenge, outdoor adventure, and social bonding. Whether students are strapping on skis for the first time or honing their abilities on the slopes, they develop confidence, resilience, and independence—all while creating unforgettable memories with friends.
Another cornerstone of our enrichment programme is the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, a transformative initiative that many of our Year 10 pupils choose to undertake. This year-long programme fosters personal growth, leadership, and resilience. Participants work across four key areas: volunteering, physical activity, developing a new skill, and completing a challenging expedition that includes planning, navigation, and camping overnight. Through the DofE, students develop independence, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility, all while building confidence in their ability to overcome obstacles.
Pupils in Years 10 and 12 enjoy taking part in a week-long work experience placement. This provides the perfect opportunity for them to explore and develop key skills providing inspiration for life beyond Babington House.
We offer a wide range of individual music lessons, this includes:
• Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone
• Violin, Viola, Cello
• Trumpet
• Drums and Percussion
• Piano
• Voice
• Guitar (Classical/Electric)

We are proud of our co-educational setting which continually creates a harmonious and balanced community for all. We are a school where everyone is known as an individual and our friendly, welcoming environment makes Babington a happy and vibrant place to be.
From the moment you start, you will be enrolled into one of our four Houses named after famous women in history; Florence Nightingale, Marie Curie, Edith Cavel and Elizabeth Fry. These Houses are a huge part of Babington’s history, inherited from our founder Madame Rosselin 1887. Our House system is a vital part of Babington and encourages our pupils to collaborate, make friends and learn from each other across the school as they come together to participate in a range of activities throughout the school year.
Every parent at Babington House school automatically becomes a member of the Friends Association and are welcome to be a silent observer or an enthusiastic contributor and help with planning and running the many wonderful events throughout the year, such as the Summer Ball or Christmas Bazaar, all of which raise funds for various projects to benefit all pupils.

Healthy Eating
Holroyd Howe provides excellent catering and hospitality services at Babington House School. Our food philosophy is based on healthy, fresh, wholesome ingredients.
We endeavour to use seasonal, locally sourced produce where possible and provide nutritious, balanced meals.
Our Menu
Our weekly changing lunch menu provides a wide variety of hot main courses, including classic, traditional, and favourite dishes and new ideas to try. We also offer a delicious vegetarian option, pasta dishes, or jacket potatoes, served with seasonal vegetables or salad and accompaniments.
Special dietary requirements
The Catering Team recognise that an increasing number of children suffer from allergies and intolerances. Additionally, many children have food preferences; this may be for many reasons, including religion, beliefs, or lifestyle choices.
We try to ensure everyone’s needs are met. No nuts or sesame are used in food production at Babington. However, some items are manufactured in environments that also handle some of the 14 listed Allergens, so we class these as ‘May Contain’, which are clearly labelled.
In addition to Foundation Food Allergen training for every team member, five of our 8-strong team are Allergy Champions who assist the staff and pupils in making safe food choices.
SchoolsBuddy is our cashless payment system. Once your child has started at Babington House, you will be provided with a SchoolsBuddy account to book and pay for clubs, trips and other activities.
Visit our policies page to access all the school policies.
The BHSFA – Babington House School Friends’ Association – is a dedicated team of parent volunteers who organise fundraising events throughout the school year. Their goal is to support the school community by raising funds that directly benefit the children and enhance their experience at Babington.
A key part of the BHSFA’s fundraising efforts comes from the sale of pre-loved school uniform. Generously donated by current families, this uniform stock is sold at affordable prices. Sales take place regularly during the year – for dates and details, please check the weekly Babington Bulletin, contact your Form Rep, or email us directly.
